Can you give me some info as to how I can use the Powerlinc now in vCrib?
Do I have to create a Powerlinc object in vCrib manually? How would I add something like an x10 chime that has a house code (A6) as well. And then have the Powerlinc activate the chime.
ie....one of the door sensors opens, the Powerlinc sends command to signal the chime....
Thanks!

Bob, I'm too sick to go through it tonight, and Insteon has been about the biggest nightmare ever, so I will try to put something together later.
to try though, add a object and set type to insteon... and then put in the address. it will make the commands to control it etc.
BTW, in the very message you quoted, I defined SDM =) I will definitely help with Insteon, but understand, I hate them and I am not a replacement for their support, documentation, training, etc. I spent about 40 hours trying to explain the concepts of cross linking and group messages and tap tap... I think we just need some links up here pointing to some Insteon docs, forums, etc.
I will work on the "Using with vCrib" part over the next couple of days. Humanzee is really good, but busy here lately, but one of use will get you through it. Also, I put in mouse over tip in most of the Insteon client, although I know it is no substitue for docs...

Thanks Vaughn
I really appreciate everything you do, and I know how busy you are. I'll have time to play with this tomorrow and see how far I can get on my own. I'm really excited that I was able to get vCrib to see the PLC after running that 'set port' program. Once I can figure out how to get the housecode inputted I think I'll be ready to rock.
Don't worry about the docs. If I can get up and running I'll document everything that I know. Documentation and whatnot takes a ton of time. I'd rather you spend your time on coding and more important stuff
I'm going to be putting up on the wiki info on how to back up a database, and also how to upgrade using a script. I'll start adding info about how to get up and running soon (add devices, get the w800rf going, etc)
Get some rest!

Ah, by my comment I was just stating where was it ever mentioned that I needed the SDM, haha. I guess I stumbled across it on that other guy's site, installed it, and then realized that your Insteon.exe was using it.
If you wouldn't have said that I NEEDED to install it, I would have just figured that your Insteon.exe installed it or something on it's own. I was very confused why that SDM was running in my tray. Then I realized that your exe was using it. Very interesting
