Well, I was just thinking about this info that Humanzee pointed out:

The old ones were called signalinc's instead of access points. The only difference is that they do not work with the wireless Insteon remotes due to a design oversight on the early versions. But should work fine for bridging.

Insteon Access Points only work with Insteon remotes, and there is only one kind of remote at the moment. If you don't like the remote then there is no point to upgrade but when I did they included the remote for "free". You just had to pay for the shipping and upgrade to the new access point model.

I guess I missed the boat on this one. I did a quick search, and it looks like they stopped allowing upgrades on 03-15-2008 for the Access Points. So the ones I have can only be used for bridging hard wired Insteon devices I suppose?

I wonder if I could just buy one new Access Point to use with wireless devices.

My question to you is....does all the wireless Insteon stuff work with the Access Points? ie....wireless thermostat thing, wireless motion detector, wireless (Insteon) remotes, etc?

I have an x10 repeater/coupler installed at my fuse box. If I plug in the Access Points, one on each phase, will the x10 still bridge at the panel, and the Insteon signals will bridge via the Access Points? ie....both X10 and Insteon should work at the same time? I think IIRC, that was how you had your system set up Humanzee?

Can someone with access please move this thread to the General HA location of the forums. I'm not sure why I posted this under vCrib. Thanks
